Junior Achievement

Parents! Thanks to the El Segundo Ed Foundation, our students are being provided with “JA in a Day” in each of the 6th and 7th grade classrooms on Thursday, March 13th.  Junior Achievement (JA) is a program where volunteers come into the classroom to teach kids about business, using hands on activities and real world business examples.  It is a fabulous experience for kids because they get a glimpse of possible business careers plus they develop an appreciation for what goes on behind those big office buildings; how products are priced, how expenses are paid and how the actions of business can impact the entire community.  They will meet in their first period classrooms for the day.

To make this day a success, we need your help! Volunteers (2) are needed in our classroom all day on Thursday, March 13th.  All materials are provided by the JA program, and they are easy to set-up and follow.  Lunch will be provided!  If we do not have enough volunteers for each classroom by February 14th, we will not be able to include the 7th grade classrooms in the program this year.

There are two training sessions, of which you will only need to attend one:  Tuesday, March 4th or Wednesday, March 5th from 6:30pm to 8:30p at ESMS Library.

To volunteer for my classroom, please sign up here: http://www.mysignup.com/jadayesms

If your company has a corporate volunteer program, “JA in a Day” qualifies!
