Communication to Families re: School Dismissal

Effective Monday March 16, 2020 we will transition to online instructional programs through April 3, 2020. Spring break will begin on April 6, 2020 and end on April 10, 2020. We expect students to return to campus and begin their regular class day on Monday April 13, 2020. 


Teachers will be reaching out to students and families on Monday to let them know how to access coursework and how to submit for grading. Students are expected to turn in work for their classes, T/TH- Per 1,3,5,7 and W/F- Per  2,4,6,8, on the day they have classes. If your student is having trouble accessing or turning in the assignments please email the teacher ASAP so that the teacher can make accommodations.


Again thank you for your patience, flexibility and understanding during this time. As always I will communicate any changes as quickly as possible.

Dear Bulldog Families,

With safety as our top priority, we understand the uncertainty and many questions that our families have regarding our plans to provide educational programs to our students during the school dismissal.  Please understand that ALL activities, rehearsals, athletic completions and practices are included in this dismissal. Students should not be on campus for any reason. Attendance Recovery and Saturday School are cancelled until further notice. 

Effective Monday, March 16, 2020,  we will transition to online instructional programs. You will receive additional updates regarding possible extensions as information becomes available. This is a fluid situation and our district  will continue to consult with the Los Angeles County Department of Education and the California Department of Public Health to determine the best measures to ensure our students are safe.  

ESMS students will be able to access their assignments, starting Monday, through either PowerSchool Learning, Altitude or direct email. Teachers will assign daily lessons for students based on our bell schedule. For example students will get an overview of their assignments for the week on Monday. They will then complete their assignments for odd classes on Tuesday and Thursday and even classes on Wednesdays and Fridays. All teachers will be available via email from 8:30am - 2:00pm to answer any questions students may have.

We know this is a difficult time, and students have many questions. Our counseling staff will also be available via email and phone during this dismissal. Again, next week ESMS will not be able to provide face-to-face assistance to students. 

Thank you for your support and flexibility as we transition to a virtual instructional program.  We appreciate your patience in this process. If families do not have internet available, please contact either Mr. Wright or Mrs. Davlantis, and alternative arrangements will be made to ensure access to instructional materials.
