ESMS Welcomes New Principal

Adam Wright

Adam Wright joins El Segundo Middle School with nine years of experience as assistant principal at two different high schools, Gahr High school (1.5 years) and Cerritos High School (7 years). From 2002 to 2011, he was a teacher and teacher on special assignment for the Burbank Unified School District teaching social studies, physical education, and health.


Wright is known for his student-centered approach and “can-do” attitude. He is dedicated to the schools and communities he serves and displays a comprehensive knowledge of all areas of responsibility for secondary school administration. He has extensive knowledge of curriculum and is skilled in instructional leadership. With a global perspective, technical savvy and a passion for data, he hopes to use this knowledge to execute improved services to El Segundo Middle School students. He is approachable and looks forward to working cooperatively and collaboratively with faculty, staff and parents.


Wright earned his master’s degree in education from National University, specializing in cross-cultural teaching with a single subject credential. He earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from California Polytechnic State University San Luis Obispo, and an administrative credential from California State University, Dominguez Hills. Mr. Wright’s start date is December 5, 2019.
