Resetting PowerSchool Account and Password


Every student, even students who have an active PowerSchool account or those who have recently set up a new password, is required to reset their PowerSchool account and password. Logins for students will be standardized for all PowerSchool, Google accounts, Haiku and ESUSD computer accounts. This means you will have one login for all accounts. Use a computer or a laptop to log in and reset your student account and password for PowerSchool. This is mandatory. iPads will be set up this week at school. In order for your iPad to be set up, you will need to reset your PowerSchool password


1. Go to www.elsegundousd.net

2. Click on “Powerschool Log-in link”

3. Click on http://ssrpm.esusd.k12.ca.us

4. Click on “Enroll in SSRPM”

5. Enter Username and record your Username on your “El Segundo Middle School Student Security Questions & Passwords Record” worksheet. See example below.

USER NAME:  jdoe_21


6. Enter Password and record your Password on your “El Segundo Middle School Student Security Questions & Passwords Record” worksheet. See example below.

OLD PASSWORD:  birth day birth month birth year

OLD PASSWORD:  24052000  (May 24, 2000)


7. Click “Continue”

8. Choose 3 security questions to answer. Write down your security questions and answers on your “El Segundo Middle School Student Security Questions & Passwords Record” worksheet. See example below.

9. Click “Enroll.” You will receive a screenshot notifying you of the completion of this step.

10. All students must reset their password. To reset your password, click “Home” on the notification screen.

11. Click on the second box on screen: “Reset Password”.  

12. Enter Username

13. Click “Continue”

14. Answer security questions using the “El Segundo Middle School Student Security Questions & Passwords Record” worksheet.

15. Create a new password and record your new password on your “El Segundo Middle School Student Security Questions & Passwords Record” worksheet. Password must be as instructed below:

NEW PASSWORD:  Esms12345


16. Click “Reset Password”. You are now enrolled to log in to PowerSchool, Google accounts, Haiku and ESUSD computer accounts.


If you receive an error message and/or are unable to reset your password at any point during this process, please go to the school office and sign the PowerSchool Issues form.


Student Email Setup:


Every student is required to also set up their email @esusdstudents.org. Please follow the instructions below. You must create your student email in order to set up the school issued iPad.


1. Go to elsegundomiddleschool.org

2. Click on Students Tab on the home page.

3. Click on ESUSD Student Email. You will be redirected to SSO Login.

4. Type in Username (same username from PowerSchool) and record email address on your “El Segundo Middle School Student Security Questions & Passwords Record” worksheet. See example below.

5. Type in Password and record password on your “El Segundo Middle School Student Security Questions & Passwords Record” worksheet. See example below.

6. Login

Setting Up Apple ID


For students that are 12 YEARS OF AGE OR YOUNGER, your parents should have received an email from Apple regarding consent for you to have an Apple ID. Please follow the instructions in the email. Remember: you must use your ESUSD STUDENT EMAIL (Example: jdoe_21@esusdstudents.org) for your Apple ID. Your Apple ID password must also be the same as your Power School password. If you have successfully created an Apple ID and need to reset your Apple ID username to include the correct ESUSD Student Email (@esusdstudents.org) and/or password, please refer to the bottom of this page. If you are experiencing problems, please come to the office before school tomorrow and sign the Apple ID Issues form.


For students 13 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER, please go to the following website to set up your Apple ID: https://appleid.apple.com/account. Remember: you must use your ESUSD STUDENT EMAIL (Example: jdoe_21@esusdstudents.org) for your Apple ID. Your Apple ID password must also be the same as your Power School password. If you have successfully created an Apple ID and need to reset your Apple ID username to include the correct ESUSD Student Email (@esusdstudents.org) and/or password, please refer to the bottom of this page. If you are experiencing problems, please come to the office before school tomorrow and sign the Apple ID Issues form.


Resetting Apple ID Username and/or Password


If you set up your Apple ID with your personal email address or a username that is NOT your ESUSD Student Email, you MUST RESET it to be your @esusdstudents.org email address. Please go to the following website to change your Apple ID to be your ESUSD Student Email: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5621.


If you set up your Apple ID with a password that is not the same as your Power School password, you MUST RESET it to be the same (Example: Esms12345). Please go to the following website to change your Apple ID password to be the same as your Power School password (Example: Esms12345): http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5624.



All usernames and passwords must be written down completely and correctly on the “El Segundo Middle School Security Questions and Passwords Record” form (on the next page). Be sure to bring this form with you to school tomorrow. You must bring this completed form with you in order for your iPad to be set up.
